Success is not the absence of failure, but the willingness to persevere through it.

Mia Carrillo, a proud Mexican American, finds her storytelling voice in the warmth of family traditions, the resilience of her community, and the beauty of her hometown, Ignacio, Colorado. Some of her earliest memories are woven into the stories shared around her family’s kitchen table—tales of strength, sacrifice, and love. Surrounded by the beautiful San Juan Mountains, she learned that stories have power: they connect, they heal, and they inspire.

With a degree in Journalism and Media Communication and a minor in Criminology from Colorado State University, Mia pours her heart into strategic communications, driven by a purpose bigger than herself. She believes storytelling is more than words; it’s a way to uplift voices that deserve to be heard, to bridge divides, and to create moments of understanding that leave lasting change. Her dream is to help organizations tell stories that matter—stories that don’t just inform, but move people, spark conversations, and bring communities together. Because to Mia, stories aren’t just something we tell. They are something we live, something we pass down around a kitchen table, and something that shapes the world around us.

When she's not busy crafting stories, you can find Mia painting (specifically paint-by-numbers because who doesn't love a good masterpiece without the stress?), sipping on a great matcha, or binge-watching her favorite 2000s rom-coms and reality TV shows. (Think 13 Going on 30, and The Bachelor .) And if there's a plate of really good hot wings nearby? Even better. Mia believes life’s best moments are the ones you savor; whether that's a story, a show, or a seriously great snack.
